SASSA Takes Expert Services to Fernie Community

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed with regard to the large amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office committed to service the area regularly. The support level developed for intervention encounters a large influx of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it challenging for your office to attend to all people who pay a visit to sassa a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to allow the servicing of all clients and maximize entry to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.

For more SRD information, community members can call toll free during working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 and WhatsApp on 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
